George Washington Malphrus 
George Washington was born in 1871 in Ridgeland, Jasper Co., SC.1 George Washington's father was Seaborn Nathaniel Malphrus and his mother was Sarah Jane Mulligan. His paternal grandparents were William Edward Malphrus and Kitsiah Woods; his maternal grandparents were Francis Mulligan and Eliza Lavonia Dean. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Henry Brooker, William Francis, Joseph, Ashby Marcellus, Andrew O., Cary Woodville, Cornelius Edward, Albert Preacher, Sarah Ida and Anna Ada. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 55 in 1926.1 -
