William J. was born on April 16th, 1901 in Pekin, Tazwell Co., IL.1 William J.'s father was Herman Martens and his mother was Ida G. Jackson. His paternal grandparents were Harm M. Martens and Gertje Nanninga; his maternal grandparents were John Jackson and Amiela ?(Jackson John). He had a brother and three sisters, named Harm H., Francis, Grace and Jessie. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died due to Pneumonia at the age of 44 on December 16th, 1945 in Pekin, Tazwell Co., IL.1 -
