Jeptha V. was born on July 20th, 1808.1 Jeptha V.'s father was William Fortson and his/her mother was Ann Higginbotham. His/her paternal grandparents were Thomas Fortson and Rachel Winn; his/her maternal grandparents were Samuel Higginbotham and Jane Satterwhite. He/she had six brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Samuel H., William Thomas, Elijah Satterwhite, Roderick R., Peter E., Aaron J., Jane, Rachel Wynn, Elizabeth, Frances, Ann and Elisha. He/she was the sixth youngest of the thirteen children.1 -
