David was born on February 10th, 1774 in Cross Creek, Washington, PA.1   David's father was Nicholas Devore and his mother was Sarah Decker.  His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Devore and Sarah. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Nicholas, Abner, Benjamin, Naomi, Susannah, Elizabeth, Nancy, Abigail and Sarah.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 86 on January 26th, 1861 in Union Twp, Brown, OH.1
