Abigail was born in 1781 in Cross Creek Twp, Washington, PA.1   Abigail's father was Nicholas Devore and her mother was Sarah Decker.  Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas Devore and Sarah. She had four brothers and five sisters, named David, Nicholas, Abner, Benjamin, Naomi, Susannah, Elizabeth, Nancy and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 75 on February 23rd, 1856.1
