Henrietta was born in 1573 in Aubigny-sur-Nerre, Cher, France. Henrietta's father was Esme Stewart and her mother was Katherine De Balsac. Her paternal grandfather was John Stewart and her paternal grandmother is Anne De Queille; her maternal grandfather was Guillaume De Balsac and her maternal grandmother is Louise D'Humieres. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Ludovick, Esme, Marie and Mary. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 69 on September 2nd, 1642 in Lyons, France.
