Wiliam Sinclair 
Wiliam was born about 1458 in Ravenscraig, Fifeshire, Scotland. Wiliam's father was William Sinclair and his mother was Marjorie Sutherland. His paternal grandparents were Henry Sinclair and Egidia Douglas; his maternal grandfather was Alexander Sutherland and his maternal grandmother is Mariota MacDonald. He had a brother and two sisters, named Oliver, Margaret and Eleanor. He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Catherine. He died on September 9th, 1513 in Flodden Field, Northumberland, England.General Notes

The re is a superstition that it is unlucky for a Sinclair to cross the
Ord on a Monday wearing green, This had its origin in the march
southward, in 1515, of William, 3rd Earl of Caithness and 300 men on
their way to Flodden Field. On e returned. He appears to have left before
the battle carrying a ``drum- head charter" granted to the Earl by James
IV. The Sinclairs were invariably unlu cky in their military expeditions
beyond the county.
