Juliane was born in 1195 in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. Juliane's father was John De Cogan and her mother is Marie De Prendergast. Her paternal grandparents are Richard De Cogan and Basilie De Riddlesford; her maternal grandparents are Gerard De Prendergast and Maud le Boteler. She was an only child.
