Millard Landis was born on February 17th, 1852 in Sherman, Aroostook County, Maine. Millard Landis' father was Sr. Morgan Johnson Jesse and his mother was Lydia Frances Young. His paternal grandparents were Jr. Morgan David and Polly Andres Colby. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Henry Lorange, Jesse Frances, Horace Harold Parker, Jr. Morgan Johnson, Helen A., Theresa J., Emily A., Eugenia Esmah and Rufina. He is the fifth youngest of the ten children.-
