Baltus Diamond 
Baltus was born on July 24th, 1798 in Fredericksburgh Township, Canada West and his baptism took place there on July 24th, 1798. Baltus' father was John Diamond and his mother was Christiana Loyst. His paternal grandfather is Johannes Diamond and his paternal grandmother was Maretje Schott; his maternal grandparents are Johann Cheban Loyst and Annoka Magdalena Lydecker. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named Jacob, John, Abraham, William Frederick, Andrew, Henry, Jane "Jinny", Margaret, Catherine, Mary, Sarah, Clara and Anne. He was the seventh youngest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 76 on September 10th, 1874 in Belleville, Hastings County, Ontario. He was buried in Vanderwater Cemetery, Arnold Young Farm, S. Fredericksburgh, L&A County, Ontario.1 1 General Notes
