Malinda Phebe was born on February 20th, 1824 in Laurel, KY. Malinda Phebe's father was Henry Branstetter and her mother is Elizabeth Craig. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Michael Brandstetter and Mary Railsbach; her maternal grandfather is John Craig. She had two brothers and six sisters, named William Henry, John W, Margaret Jane, Thomas N, Catherine Susan, Mary A, Missouri Emily and Barbara N. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 92 on March 26th, 1916 in Peggs, OK. She was buried in Blue Springs Cemetery, Tahlequah, Cherokee Co., Indian Territory.-
