John Oliver 
John was born on August 16th, 1836 in Salford, Lancashire, England. John's father was Thomas Oliver and his mother was Sarah Ashworth. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Oliver and Mrs. Jane Oliver; his maternal grandparents were John Ashworth and Ann Varley. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, Joseph, Mary Ann, Jane, Hannah, Sarah Ann, Martha and Mary Ann (Twin). He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
