Edward was born about 1535 in of, Weekley, Northamptonshire, England. Edward's father was Edward Montagu and his mother was Ellen Roper. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Montagu and Agnes Dudley; his maternal grandfather is John ROPER and his maternal grandmother was Jane Fineux. He had five brothers and six sisters, named UNKNOWN, Roger, Simon, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, Ellen, Isabella, Mary, Margaret and Agnes. He was the second oldest of the twelve children. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Edward, Prince England, *Edward "Atheling" Prince, The Exile England, Ralph, Thomas, Robert, Dorothy, Anne and Amelia. He died in 1601.
