William Herbert 
William was born about 1455 in of Ragland, Monmouthshire, England and his baptism took place in {godwin}. William's father was William Herbert and his mother was Anne Devereux. His paternal grandparents were William Thomas and Gwladus Verch Dafydd; his maternal grandfather was Walter Devereaux and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Merbury. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Walter, George, Philip, John, Thomas, Margaret, Maud, Cecilie, Isabel, Anne and Catherine. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died on July 16th, 1491 in Spm. He was buried in Tintern Abbey.-
