GILBERT was born in 1180.1   GILBERT's father was RICHARD De CLARE and his mother was AMICIA FITZWILLIAM. He had a brother and a sister, named RICHARD ROGER and MAUD (MATILDA).  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 50 on October 25th, 1230.1

‌GILBERT and ISABELLE were married in a religious ceremony in 1217.2   They had three sons and three daughters, named RICHARD, WILLIAM, GILBERT, AMICIA, ISABELLE and AGNES.
