His paternal grandparents were George McDaniel and Margaret Goff; his maternal grandparents were Ambrose Rucker and Mary Tinsley. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, Ambrose Rucker, Elizabeth, Judith, Margaret and Mary. He died at the age of 37 on September 26th, 1823 in Amherst Co., VA, USA.-
