Ella Cornelia was born on August 25th, 1902 in Madison Co., GA, USA. Ella Cornelia's father was George Thomas Ford and her mother was Susan. Her paternal grandparents were Jordan R. Ford and Barbary Smith. She had five brothers and six sisters, named William Thomas, Joel Grover, Plummer, Jessie Cleveland, Johnnie, Tempie Ann Missouri, Clipsy Ann, Bab, Norse, Emma Ford and Addie. Monroe-Ella Ford Shelnut died 9-29. A native of Walton Co. Mrs.
Shelnut was a retired spinner of the Monroe cotton mill. She was the
daughter of the late George and Susie Brown Ford. She was the widow of
Hershel B. Shelnut. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2p.m.
in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home, Monroe with the Revs. Bill
Shelnut a
nd J.D. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Union Christian Church
Cemetery, Oconee Co.
Survivors include three son Robert G. Shelnut , Conyers,
Glenn A. Shelnut , Johnson City Tenn., and Jerry N. Shelnut, Snellville;
eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grand children.
