Joshua Underwood

Joshua was born in 1823 in Kentucky.  Joshua's father was Caleb Underwood and his mother was Elizabeth Mary Wardrum.  His paternal grandfather was James Underwood and his paternal grandmother is Keziah Unknown. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Abraham Hiram, Younger Richard, James, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Frances.  He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Parthena.  He died at the age of 47 in 1870.

‌Joshua and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on November 13th, 1845 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  They had three sons and four daughters, named James T., George W., William T., Elizabeth J., Melvina, Matilda and Martha E..
