Elizabeth Underwood 
Elizabeth was born in 1815. Elizabeth's father was Caleb Underwood and her mother was Elizabeth Mary Wardrum. Her paternal grandfather was James Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Keziah Unknown. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Abraham Hiram, Younger Richard, James, Joshua, Mary, Martha and Frances. She is the third oldest of the eight children. Took care of Caleb before his death and was given his Taylor County homestead (that he lived on for the last 15 years of his life) In gratitude. "I being in a helpless condition and Elizbeth Underwood has had a great trouble in taing care of me and binds herself to take care of me as long as I live, for which I convey all my right and title to ...41 acres." After Caleb's death , Elizabeth filed suit against her brother-in-law Stephen Perkins. Stephen had psssession of the land and claimed that Caleb had sold the land to Elizabeth's brother James , who sold it to him. The court awarded the land to Elizabeth.
