Lathelle Valdine's father was Cleburne Curtis Stevens and her mother was Annie Lavinia McCorcle. Her maternal grandparents were William Wade Hudgins McCorcle and Amanda Lavessa Stuart. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Cleburne Curtis ,Jr., Donald Gene, Unknown, Pauline Cleo, Lillian Nadine, Vivian Irene, Wanda Darlene and Yvonne Estelle.-
