James Marion was born on February 1st, 1851 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky. James Marion's father was William G. Sprowls and his mother was Sarah Underwood. His maternal grandfather was William C. Underwood and his maternal grandmother is Mariah J. Druien. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William G. , Jr., Robert, John Proctor, Nancy Jane, Ursula, Maria Elizabeth, Mary, Alice and Ellen. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 67 on March 27th, 1918 in Otter,Larue Co.,Kentucky.-
