Lucinda Jane was born in 1825 in Kentucky. Lucinda Jane's father was Stephen Skaggs and her mother was Rhoda Warren. Her paternal grandfather was Henry Skaggs and her paternal grandmother is Berry Skaggs; her maternal grandparents were William J. Warren and Rhoda Unknown. She had six brothers and four sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Henry David, Hezekiah, William L., Uriah, Elijah P., James Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Emily, Rachel Ann, Unknown and Unknown. She is the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.-
