James ,Jr. was born in 1780 in North Carolina. James ,Jr.'s father was James Keahey and his mother was Mary Jane Jackson. His paternal grandparents were William Mac Keachy and Margaret Unknown; his maternal grandfather was Samuel Jackson and his maternal grandmother is Christian Unknown. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel M., John, George Burder, Eleanor and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 105 in 1885.-
