George Pleasant was born on October 17th, 1825 in Scott Co.,Mississippi. George Pleasant's father was George Jackson Keahey and his mother was Margaret Keahey. His paternal grandparents were John Keahey and Martha Jackson; his maternal grandparents were James Keahey and Mary Jane Jackson. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named John Robert Jackson, Preston Gustavius, Martha Graham, Christian Mason, Margaret Malinda, Virginia Caroline, Irene LeJane, Sarah Emaline and Mary Ann. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 47 on October 21st, 1872 in Drew Co.,Arkansas. He was buried in Old Smith Plantation,East of Star City,Arkansas.General Notes
