His paternal grandparents were John Graham and Mary Emmaline Pennington. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Isaac Jackson, Curtis Beason, John Curtis, Ozias Denton ,Dr., Jesse Abner ,Jr., Benjamin Franklin, James Monroe, Michael, Sarah Ememline, Martha Jane, Hulda Ann and Mary Ellen. He was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 44 on December 22nd, 1884 in Sweetwater,Nolan Co.,Texas.-
