Grace was born in 1903 in Nottowa,Wharton Co.,Texas. Grace's father was Arthur Caylor and her mother was Marie L. Gowen. Her maternal grandparents were John Steel Gowen and Maria Jane Johnston. She had two brothers named Thomas Lee and Eddie C.. She is the oldest of the three children.-
