Jane Ellen was born on November 16th, 1861. Jane Ellen's father was Silas Smith Vines and her mother was Elizabeth Phoebe Dunsmore. Her maternal grandparents were William H. Dunsmore and Mary Margaret Warnsturf. She has five brothers and four sisters, named James William, John Wesley, Harvey Lewis, Goheen Botler, Alfred Burman, Mary Mollie Catherine, Henrietta Smith, Sarah Frances and Elizabeth Susan. She is the youngest of the ten children.-
