James V Stewart of was born on April 15th, 1512 in Linlithgow Palace, Lothian, Scotland.  James V Stewart of's father was James IV Stewart of Scotland and his mother was Margaret Tudor.  His paternal grandparents were James III Stewart of Scotland and Margaret Oldenburg; his maternal grandparents were Henry VII Tudor of England and Elizabeth Plantagenet of York. He had five half-sisters named Catherine, Margaret, Jean, Margaret and Dorothea.  He died at the age of 30 on December 14th, 1542 in Falkland Castle, Fife, Scotland.  He was buried in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland.
