Jack & Janet Schnurr have Jesse's birthdate in family records listed as 6
DEC 1829 while some sources list 1828.
New York Passenger Lists, 1851-1891 lists his Place of Origin as Ireland
(probably place of ship's origin):
"Jesse Plackett, Arrival Date: 20 Apr 1853, Estimated Birth Year: 1825,
Age: 28, Gender: Male, Port of Departure: Liverpool, England, Place of
Origin: Irelqand, Ship Name: Screamer, Port of Arrival: New York, Line:

According to Janet Schnurr: "On March 4, 1861 in Metamora, Woodford
County, Illinois Jesse Plackett and the nearly 17 year old Mary (Molly)
Walden were united in marriage. The ceremony took place in the Metamora
Court House, location of the Lincoln-Douglas debates and now a historical
site. That night the couple led a candlelight parade on horseback, Mary
and Jesse being the newlyweds of the day and the parade being in
celebration of the first inauguration of Abraham Lincoln as president of
the United States."
