Tostig Godwinsson of was born about 1026 in Northumberland, Wessex, England.  Tostig Godwinsson of's father was Godwin of Wessex and his mother was Gytha Thorkilsdottir.  His paternal grandfather was Wulfnoth of Sussex; his maternal grandparents were Thorkils Sprakalegg Styrjornsson and UNKNOWN Sigrid. He had four brothers and a sister, named Leofwine of, Gyrth Godwinsson of East, Harold II Godweineson of, Sveyn Godwinsson of and Edith (Eadgyth) of.  He died on September 25th, 1066 in Battle of Stamford Bridge, Northumberland, England.  He was buried in York Minster.
