James Hiatt 
James was born on April 25th, 1751 in Sandy Ridge,Capon Drains, Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia). James' father was John Jr. Hiatt and his mother was Margaret Stephens. His paternal grandparents were John Hiatt and Mary Lois Smith; his maternal grandparents were Peter Stephens and Maria Christina Rittenhouse. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Evan, Jonathan, Timothy, Martha, Sarah, Ruth and Phebe. He had ten half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named George, John, Joseph, William, Evan, James, Jonathan, Timothy, Thomas, John L., Catherine, Margaret, Mary, Ann, Margaret, Margaret and Mary. He died at the age of 72 on August 8th, 1823 in Wood County, Virginia.General Notes
