Canute II the Great Sveynsson of was born about 0995 in Denmark.  Canute II the Great Sveynsson of's father was Sveyn I Forkbeard Haraldsson of Denmark and his mother was Sygryd Dumna Swietoslava of Poland.  His paternal grandparents were Harald VII Bluetooth Gormsson of Denmark and Gyrid Olafsdottir of Sweden; his maternal grandparents were Mieszko I Mieczislaw (Burislaf)of Poland and Dobravy of Bohemia. He had a brother and three sisters, named Harald III Sveynsson of, Gytha, Thyra and Gunhilda.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had two half-sisters named Estrith (Margaret) of and Svantoslava of.  He died on November 12th, 1035 in Shaftesbury, Dorset, England.  He was buried in 1035 in Winchester Cathedral, London, England.
