Matthias Chipps 
Matthias was born in 1765 in Morris County, New Jersey. Matthias' father was John Chips and his mother is Jannetje Lane. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Morris, Elizabeth, Mary and Rebecca. He was the youngest of the six children. Matthias is no longer alive.General Notes

McFarland family lists his birthyear as about 1775. There are also some
questions as to whether he had two wives named Rachel or if one is a
false lead, which Rachel (if there were two) were the mother of which
children, and whether he had a wife named Lydia (Sutton?).
According to Michael R. Ritter (ritteratwork@@hotmail.com): "It appears
that Ephraim Douglass (d. 1833) Revolutionary War officer, Quartermaster
of the 8th Pennsylvania Regiment, printed order to the sheriff of Fayette
county, Pa. to summon Matthias Chipps. Signed by Douglass as clerk of
courts in Fayette County, Pennsylvania in 1799."
Matthias and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony about 1800 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. They had two sons and three daughters, named Abraham, David H., Abigail, Mary and Elizabeth.

Abigail Chipps
Abigail was born in 1788 in New Jersey. She died at the age of 84 in 1872 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
David H. Chipps
David H. was born on January 22nd, 1801 in Pennsylvania. He died at the age of 60 on February 22nd, 1861 in Mercer County, Missouri.
Matthias and Lydia were married in a religious ceremony before 1822.
Matthias and Rachel were married in a religious ceremony before 1838.
