George I Louis Guelph Hanover of Great was born on May 28th, 1660 in Leineschloss, Osnabruck, Lower Saxony, Hanover, Germany.  George I Louis Guelph Hanover of Great's father was Ernest Augustus Guelph Brunswick-Luneberg and his mother was Sophia Simmern Wittelsbach.  His maternal grandparents were Frederick V Henry Simmern Wittelsbach and Elizabeth Stuart. He had a sister named Sophia Charlotte.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 67 on June 11th, 1727 in Leineschloss, Osnabruck, Lower Saxony, Hanover, Germany.  He was buried in Chapel Schloss Herrenhausen, Hanover, Germany.
