Sarah was born in 1869. Sarah's father was J. T. Poe and her mother was Celia Anders. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Anders and Sarah Richardson. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James Everett, Floyd, Friel, Osborn, Elbert, Betty and Jency. She is the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
