Pedro II "The Catholic" was born in 1174 in Zaragoza, Spain.  Pedro II "The Catholic"'s father was Alfonso II "The Chaste" King of Aragon and his mother was Sancha Queen of Aragon.  His paternal grandfather is Ramón Berenguer IV Count of Barcelona; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VII King of Castile and Ryksa Queen of Castile.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 39 on September 14th, 1213 in Muret, France.


Pedro II "The Catholic"'s family with Maria Countess of Montpellier

‌Pedro II "The Catholic" and Maria were married in a religious ceremony in Montpellier, France.  They had a son named Jaime I "The Conqueror".
