Wilbur was born on February 15th, 1912 in Wellsville, Columbiania Co., Ohio. Wilbur's father was Charles Maywood Hall and his mother was Cora Edith Springer. His paternal grandparents were Philip Hall and Rebecca Ann Gatten; his maternal grandparents are William Springer and Mary Johnston. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Frank C., Robert Henry, Harry, Zelma Mae, Ruth V., Wilma June, Phyllis and Margaret. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 57 on November 30th, 1969 in Wellsville, Columbiania Co., Ohio.-
