Lillie Mae was born on October 10th, 1877 in Glidden, Carroll Co., Iowa. Lillie Mae's father was Richard (Richmond) Coen and her mother was Hannah Minerva Nesler. Her paternal grandparents were Levi Coen and Delilah Brewer; her maternal grandparents were Harrison Nesler and Nancy Ann Knowles. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William Harrison, Samuel Arthur, Lawrence E., Mattie M., Nancy Ann, Iva Estella and Mina B.. She is the oldest of the eight children.-
