Burras Cheek 
Burras was born in 1866 in Alleghany Co., NC. Burras' father is Meridith Cheek and his mother was Sarah "Sally" Andrews. His paternal grandparents are Richard Cheek and Mrs. Frankie Cheek; his maternal grandfather was James Andrews and his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Crouse. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, Henderson, Isom, Joseph, Matilda, Rosa and Pheobe Jane. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 in 1946 in Fountain Green, MD.-
