Candace Anders was born in 1844. Candace Anders' father was Lorenzo Andrews and her mother was Margaret Crouse. Her paternal grandfather was William Anders and her paternal grandmother is Aby Swindle; her maternal grandparents were Jacob Crouse and Sarah Sally Edwards. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James M., Charles, William W., Wesley Burrus, Sarah and Abiah (Abitha). She was the fourth oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 44 in 1888.
