Lydia Alice was born on October 29th, 1913 in Kennebec, South Dakota. Lydia Alice's father was George Harrison Andrews and her mother was Lydia Armettie Coen. Her paternal grandparents were Ralza Spencer Andrews and Elmina Amelia Cornell; her maternal grandparents were William Gatton Coen and Lydia Ressler. She had two brothers and four sisters, named William Spencer, Sidney Wallace, Ruby Elmira, Esther Ellen, Ruth Ethel and Edith Marie. She is the third youngest of the seven children.-
