Herbert Freeland was born on March 3rd, 1890 in Charles Mix, South Dakota. Herbert Freeland's father was Ralza Spencer Andrews and his mother was Elmina Amelia Cornell. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Willie, Irwin E., George Harrison, Lewis Howard, Elmer Wesley, Philinda C., Edith I. and Ethel F.. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 90 on June 7th, 1980 in Ashtabula, Ashtabula Co., Ohio.
They had three sons and three daughters, named Herbert Frederick, Glenn Harold, Paul Lindsey, Lucile Eleanor, Margaret Madelle and Alda Ruth.
