Jane was born about 1762 in , York, Va. Jane's father was Benedict Bennett Stacy and her mother was Sarah Haskins. Her paternal grandfather was John Stacy and her paternal grandmother is Mary Abernathy; her maternal grandparents were Aaron Haskins and Priscilla Redmond. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Aaron, John, Elisha, Mark, Nancy, Sarah and Lucretia. She is the fourth oldest of the nine children.General Notes
