Griffith Owens was born in 1648 in Dalsery, Merioneth, Dolserean, Wales and his baptism took place in Dolsereau, Dolgelly, Merioneth, Wales. Griffith Owens' father was Robert Owens OWEN and his mother was Jane VAUGHAN. His paternal grandparents were Humphrey OWEN and Catherine NANNAU; his maternal grandfather was Robert VAUGHAN and his maternal grandmother is Catherine NAHNAU. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Ellis, Lewis, Rowland, Humphrey, Robert, Rowland Owens, Edward, Lewis Owens, Humphrey Owens, Elizabeth and Elizabeth.
