Hywel Fychan was born about 1560 in Of Dolgellau, Merioneth, Maritime, Wls. Hywel Fychan's father was Gruffydd VAUGHAN and his mother is Catherine UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents are Howell VAUGHAN and Mrs Catherine VAUGHAN. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Rhys and Catherine. He was the oldest of the four children.
