John BOWEN 
John was born in 1737 in Augusta, Va. John's father was John BOWEN and his mother was Lilly MCILHANEY. His paternal grandparents were Moses BOWEN and Rebecca REECE; his maternal grandfather was Henry MC ILHANEY and his maternal grandmother is Mrs. Jane HUNTER. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Henry, Moses, Robert, Reece (Rees), William, Arthur M, Charles, Nancy Anne, Agnes, Jane Jean, Rebecca, Jean and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 40 in 1777 in Botetort, Va, Va. He was buried in 1768 in , Augusta, Va.General Notes
