Humphrey was born about 1424 in Stafford, Staffordshire, England. Humphrey's father was Humphrey de Stafford and his mother was Anne de Neville. His paternal grandparents were Edmund de Stafford and Anne Plantagenet; his maternal grandparents were Ralph De Neville and Joan de Beaufort. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Henry, John, Anne, Joanna, Elizabeth, Margaret and Catherine. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died in 1455 in Battle of St. Albans.-
