Helen Verch was born about 1234 in Caernarvonshire, Wales.  Helen Verch's father was Llewelyn "The Great" and her mother was Joanna Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Iorwerth Drwyndwn ap Owain and Marared Margaret of Powys-Vadoc; her maternal grandparents were John Lackland and Agatha de Ferrers. She had two brothers and a sister, named Dafydd ap, Maelgwn Fychan ap and Margaret Marared ferch.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Gruffydd ap, Tegwared ap, Gwladys "Ddu" ferch, Marared ferch, Gwenllian ferch, Helen verch and Angharad verch.  She died on October 24th, 1253.
