Bleddyn ap was born about 1026 in Montgomeryshire, Wales. Bleddyn ap's father was Cynfyn ap Gwerystan and his mother was Angharad Verch Maredydd. His paternal grandparents were Gwerystan ap Gwaithfoed and Nest ferch Cadell; his maternal grandfather was Maredydd Ap Owain. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Rhywallen ap, Caradoc ap, Everydd ferch and Gwerdd Verch. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother named Gruffydd ap. He died in 1072.-
