Edward Willis was born on September 11th, 1900. Edward Willis' father was William Simmons Lang and his mother was Gertrude Cheney. His paternal grandparents were Richard Simmons Lang and Fannie E. Wigston; his maternal grandparents were Henry B. Cheney and Frances Esther Merritt. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Henry Warren, Charles Leonard, Dorothy May, Francis Esther and Pauline Gertrude. He was the second oldest of the six children.-
